PC Workshops latest job is an aged Toshiba A60 which while being 8 or 9 years old is running windows XP perfectly well. The customer from Warrington has brought the Toshiba Laptop in for a new CMOS battery which keeps the clock up to date and the BIOS settings stable while the laptop is turned off.
Sometimes the CMOS battery is readily available but this particular one requires the laptop stripped down completely ( 40 odd screws ) to gain access to the battery which is soldered onto the motherboard. (later ones are generally not soldered).
PC Workshop cater for all makes and models of laptops and computers and we enjoy the more unusual jobs no matter how small or large.
