One of PC Workshops latest customers has brought in a Mac Book Pro which has a serious virus alert supposedly from a legitimate source which is dubious to say the least as it also gives a contact number which no doubt will be a premium charge line,
Thankfully the customer has a dual back up in both I cloud and Time Machine so his work etc is safeguarded, the other major problem was that safari would no longer start, which was frustrating to say the least.
After attempting to reset safari and checking with the customer regarding back ups, PC Workshop installed a fresh copy of El Capitan and a few updates plus his personal data from i cloud (took an age) as his time machine wasn’t available (been much quicker) and Safari was as good as ever.
PC Workshop also cleaned out his cooling fans to prevent an over heating situation which can cause processor problems as you could feel the heat increase at the rear centre of the laptop.
